Alkira Marine Services back onsite at BHP in the Hunter River for restoration works to the sheet pile wall. Two of our aluminium punts were commissioned to transfer specialist painting contractors along the sheetpile wall for the repair of any damage to the paint surface. We also assisted with the disconnection and removal of the defuser pipe for them.
Alkira Marine Services installed a new mooring at Lake Burrendong for Burrendong Houseboats. The lake is huge and said to be ten times larger than Sydney Harbour. This was a challenge as the lake is situated between Mudgee and Wellington NSW and about five hours from home base Lake Macquarie. The lake can rise up to 10 metres in a short period of time so this had to be taken into consideration when installing the new mooring block.
