Recently Alkira Marine Services was contracted for core sampling works in the Hunter River between the wind generator and Tourle Street Bridge. Multiple samples were taken at strategic locations then transfered by punt to the shore adjacent the wind generator for processing. These works are the beginning of plans to install more coal loaders in the area making the Hunter River one of the biggest coal loading ports in the world.
